Mission and Outreach Ministry
We are to gather together and to reach out as a community of believers. This ministry supports our national and international missionaries by promoting the four major mission offerings of the year. This ministry also plans and encourages mission trips, involvement in ABW and ABM, as well as outreach activities in the local community. “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19-20)

What’s happening at Sunset Hills?
Hosanna! Easter Week has arrived!
We Kicked off with the Palm Sunday service, we’ll follow with Maundy Thursday, then a big Easter Sunday service, followed by our annual Easter Egg Hunt (revised).
Maundy Thursday service begins at 6:30 p.m. and includes traditional music, the Lord's Supper and a Service of Shadows, reflecting Jesus' suffering on His way to the cross.
Easter service highlights Communion, four young people affirming faith in Christ through believers' baptism, and two longtime Jesus followers welcomed into church membership through affirmation of Christian faith and experience.
Shortly following the service, our new-style Easter Egg Hunt will begin. At the request of some parents, our hunt will have no candy in the eggs. Instead, they will have coins, stickers and tiny toys that will fit inside. There will be eggs specialized for the youngest hunters. And all will be able to choose a prize.
We have promoted our events on social media, with upward of 7,000 contacts, which opens us up to many visitors. It’s impossible to predict, other than our need to welcome all onto our property and in our doors.

Because Don & Millie’s isn’t open on Easter, our monthly fundraiser at the 108th Street and West Center Road location has been moved back one week, to April 12.

Easter also will close our church offices on Friday and Monday. As is usual for when the office is not open, contact Rev. Steve by either email or phone. Typically, the office is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.

April mission projects will continue for filling hygiene kits. Bring your filled bags and add to those already delivered to the Narthex. Donations for recovery of the wildfire in Nebraska can be made through multiple agencies, including ABC-Nebraska.
