Title: The Price of Lessons Not Learned

Date: August 15, 2010
Text: Daniel 5:25
Thought: Our God has standards against which we will be measured.  Those standards are reflected in God's character.  Our days are numbered and our ability to honor those standards has limits.  Can we honestly say that God's character can be seen in our character?

Title: Is God Safe?
Date: August 01, 2010
Text: Daniel 4:28-33
Thought: We like to think of God as this lovey-dovey, soft and tender all-powerful being and we totally ignore the just side of our God that demands judgment and condemnation.  The only healthy view of our God is one where the total character of the Almighty is worshipped and honored, not just the part we like the best.

Title: How To Be A Wise Guy

Date: July 18, 2010
Text: Daniel 2
Thought: Daniel must be wiser than all the wisemen of the king's kingdom and interpret a dream correctly or he will die.  Such wisdom seems difficult to come by but there are way of increasing our likliness of doing what is wise.

Title: A Mighty Fortress Is Our God

Date: July 4, 2010
Text: Psalm 46
Thought:  How is it that we call our God a "refuge" and a "fortress" of safety yet we experience pain and suffering and difficulties?  Pastor Ron gives us reason to meditate on the deeper and more important meaning behind such words.

Title: Men Behaving Godly
Date: June 27, 2010
Text: Psalm 112
Thought:  Men have a unique role as husband and father.  Men do not often stop and reflect on the importance and significance of the influence and responsibility that they have.  This message is very direct and to the point in speaking to men and the idea that they must stop behaving badly and step up to behaving godly...not tomorrow but right now. Wives and single ladies might also benefit from hearing about what they should expect in a godly man.
Title: Cultivating Hunger

Date: June 13, 2010
Text: John 6:35-51
Thought: What does it mean that Jesus is the "Bread of Life?" And what in the world does that have to do with "home cooking?"

Title: Building Relationships

Date: June 06, 2010
Text: Romans 12:9-16
Thought:  God desires genuine relationships.  Jesus desired to have a relationship with us.  The Holy Spirit desires to be with us.  We are all called to have a relationships with God and others.

Title: Drawing Closer To God

Date: May 30, 2010
Text: James 4:8
Thought: What prevents us from growing closer to God?  Time?  Sin?  Pain?  Fear?  Playing the "Christian game?" What?

Title: Baggage Check
Date: May 16, 2010
Text: Colossians 3:1-17
Thought: Although there are many passages in scripture that speak more eloquently to specific areas of being a follower of Christ, this Colossians passage is one of the best in giving a wholistic view of what it means to really be a Christian.  In our daily busy lifestyles we often move from task to task filling our hours with so much "stuff" that we often fail to pause long enough to see what it is our lives are filled with.  Or worse yet, what we have picked up a long the way that is doing us harm and we may no even know it.  Sometimes, it is extremely healthy to stop and take a thorough look at what we are carrying around.
